On Thursday, February 27, the Department of Environmental Science at our university (Department Chair: Yongjoo Choi) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Gwangju Urban Management Corporation (President: Chanyong Choi) to launch an industry-academia internship program aimed at cultivating professionals in the water industry sector.
Professor Sungjong Lee attended the signing ceremony on behalf of the Department of Environmental Science, while President Chanyong Choi, Director of Environmental Projects Gwangam Ahn, and Environmental Planning Team Manager Kyungha Park were present on behalf of the Gwangju Urban Management Corporation.
The purpose of this agreement is to strengthen the capabilities of Environmental Science students through mutual cooperation and to implement tailored talent development programs.
Under the agreement, the internship program will be carried out with Gwangju Urban Management Corporation providing venues for field training and seminars, while the Department of Environmental Science will be responsible for student instruction. In addition, the two parties plan to collaborate on various initiatives including information sharing and personnel exchanges under a mutually beneficial framework.
Department of Environmental Science Signs MOU with Gwangju Urban Management Corporation for Industry-Academia Internship Program2월 27일(목), 우리 대학 환경학과(학과장 최용주)는 광주도시관리공사(사장 최찬용)와 ‘물산업분야 전문 인재양성을 위한 산학협력 인턴십 프로그램’ 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.
이날 협약식에는 환경학과 이성종 교수가 대표로 참석했으며, 광주도시관리공사 측에서는 최찬용 사장, 안광암 환경사업처장과 박경하 환경기획팀장이 함께 자리했다.
이번 업무협약은 우리 대학 환경학과와 광주도시관리공사가 상호협력하여 환경학과 재학생들의 역량 강화와 맞춤형 인재 양성 프로그램 등을 추진하는 것을 목표로 한다.
양 기관이 추진할 인턴십 프로그램은, 현장실습과 세미나 개최에 필요한 장소에 대한 지원은 광주도시관리공사에서, 참가 학생 교육은 환경학과에서 운영하는 방식으로 진행된다. 이 밖에도 정보 교환, 인적 교류 등 다양한 프로그램이 상호 호혜적인 협력 아래 추진 될 전망이다.
